Our Mission
At Vida Springs our mission is to love God, love people, make disciples and plant churches. Jesus is very clear that our priority as Christians is to grow in loving God and loving people (Matthew 22:37-39). He later commands his followers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19). Everything we do at Vida Springs revolves around these clear and simple commands.
Our vision is that Vida Springs would be a healthy, relational, multi-ethnic church community that makes authentic disciples of Jesus and plants healthy churches in other cities and nations. We intend to fulfill this vision through:
- Teaching the Bible in a way that is accurate, clear, inspiring and applicable to daily life
- Helping people experience God’s life-changing presence through worship and prayer
- Helping people connect with others in genuine, life-giving relationships
- Empowering people to serve others with their God-given gifts
- Calling people to devote their lives to Jesus’ mission of making authentic disciples
Our Story
In the summer of 2016, a group of 48 people from Lafayette, IN moved to Gainesville, FL to help start Vida Springs Church. The team was sent out from Clear River Church, which is part of a relational network of churches with a mission to plant healthy churches in other cities and nations.
Our Name
Our name, Vida Springs Church, comes from Revelation 21:6, which reads “To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.” The word “Vida” is Spanish for “life”. Our desire is that as people come to Vida Springs, they would experience the meaningful, satisfying, true life that springs up from having a relationship with God through his son Jesus.
